‘Circo Circunstancial’ (Circumstantial Circus) is an experimental video that follows a subject’s insistent task of creating a third residual element, somewhere between himself and the surrounding infrastructure. From the fountain of a garden to the bathroom of a museum we see several actions made with a relative economy of means that set out to blend both interior and exterior with the utmost transparency. This seemingly apparent ludic waste of energy is informed by Lucian of Samosata (125 -181 AD), a thinker from Classical Antiquity who claimed that «all men are bubbles, great or small, inflated with the breath of life. Some are destined to last for a brief space, others perish in the very moment of birth: but all must inevitably burst.»
